VLT01 - VIETNAM HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Activities:

• Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, meet your local Vietnam Legend Travel guide.

• Transfer to your hotel in central Hanoi.

• Free time to relax or explore the city at your own pace.

Overnight: Hanoi

 

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B/L)

Morning: Visit historic landmarks:

• Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside only)

• Ho Chi Minh House on Stilts

• One Pillar Pagoda

• Temple of Literature

Afternoon:

• Visit the Museum of Ethnology

• Cyclo ride (~1 hour) through the Old Quarter

• Visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple

• Enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Show

Overnight: Hanoi

 

Day 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh (B/L)

Morning:

• Drive to Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital (Dinh Dynasty).

• Explore ancient temples and scenic countryside, known as "Halong Bay on land."

Afternoon:

• Visit Mua Cave, climb 500 steps for a panoramic view of Tam Coc.

• Rowing boat ride through Tam Coc’s 3 caves among limestone karsts and rice fields.

• Visit Bich Dong Pagoda and enjoy a drive through peaceful rural landscapes.

Overnight: Ninh Binh

 

Day 4: Ninh Binh – Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Morning:

• Depart for Halong Bay, traveling through the Red River Delta.

• Embark on a traditional junk boat for an overnight cruise.

• Fresh seafood lunch onboard.

Afternoon:

• Explore: Surprise Cave, Bo Nau Cave, or Thien Cung Cave

• Optional: Swimming or relaxing on deck.

Evening:

• Watch the sunset and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Overnight: Onboard cruise in Halong Bay

 

Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue (Flight) (B/L)

Morning:

• Early risers enjoy tea/coffee and fruit.

• Bamboo boat ride to Luon Cave

• Continue cruising past islets and scenic formations.

Brunch Onboard:

• Disembark and transfer to Noi Bai Airport for a flight to Hue.

• Arrival and transfer to hotel.

Overnight: Hue

 

Day 6: Hue City Tour (B/L)

Morning:

• Cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda

• Visit Minh Mang’s Tomb, surrounded by gardens and lakes

Afternoon:

• Explore Tu Duc and Khai Dinh’s mausoleums

• Tour the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

• Visit Dong Ba Market

Overnight: Hue

 

Day 7: Hue – Ba Na Hills – Hoi An (B/L)

Morning:

• Drive to Da Nang, then continue to Ba Na Hills

• Take a cable car to the summit

• Visit French Village and the famous Golden Bridge

Afternoon:

• Transfer to Hoi An, check in and enjoy free time.

Overnight: Hoi An

 

Day 8: Hoi An Ancient Town & Lantern Making (B/L)

Morning: Explore Hoi An’s cultural highlights:

• Japanese Covered Bridge

• Chinese Temple

• Ancient Merchant House

Afternoon:

• Visit a local craftsman’s home for a Lantern-Making Workshop

• Enjoy your handmade lantern as a keepsake

Overnight: Hoi An

 

Day 9: Hoi An Market & Cooking Class (B/L)

Morning:

• Visit Hoi An Market to shop for cooking ingredients.

• Ride a basket boat through the nipa palm forest

• Join local fishermen and try traditional net fishing

Afternoon:

• Vietnamese cooking class in Coconut Village

• Prepare and enjoy traditional dishes

• Return to hotel and enjoy free time

Overnight: Hoi An

 

Day 10: Hoi An – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City (Flight) (B)

Morning: Transfer to Da Nang Airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Afternoon:

• Arrive and check in at hotel

• Free time to relax or explore the city

Optional Experiences:

• Scooter food tour

• A O Show (cultural performance)

Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City

 

Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels & City Tour (B/L)

Morning:

• Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, used during the Vietnam War

• Watch a documentary and walk through reconstructed sections

Afternoon: Return to Saigon for a city tour:

• Ben Thanh Market

• War Remnants Museum

• Reunification Palace

• Saigon Post Office

• Dong Khoi Street

Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City

 

Day 12: Mekong Delta – Vinh Long – Can Tho (B/L)

Morning:

• Drive to Cai Be

• Visit local workshops: rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice

• Cruise across Mekong River to An Binh Island

Afternoon:

• Cycle through villages and orchards

• Lunch on the island

• Continue by boat to Vinh Long, then drive to Can Tho

Evening: Free time along Can Tho riverside quay

Overnight: Can Tho

 

Day 13: Cai Rang Floating Market – Return to Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)

Morning:

• Visit Cai Rang Floating Market, Vietnam’s largest wholesale river market

• Cruise quiet canals, then bike through village paths

Afternoon:

• Lunch at a local restaurant

• Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City

Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City

 

Day 14: Departure from Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Free time until your transfer to the airport

Depart for your next destination
