Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok (–)

Activities:

• Warm welcome upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok.

• Meet and greet by your local English-speaking guide.

• Private transfer to the hotel for check-in.

• Free time to rest and recover from your international flight.

Overnight: Bangkok

 

Day 2: Bangkok – Full-Day City Tour (B)

Morning:

• Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

• Visit the Grand Royal Palace, an architectural masterpiece used for royal ceremonies.

• Enter the Wat Phra Kaew, home of the Emerald Buddha, the most revered image in Thailand.

• Continue to Wat Pho, the temple of the Reclining Buddha, famous for its massage school and giant golden statue.

Afternoon:

• Visit Wat Traimit, which houses the world’s largest Golden Buddha (5.5 tons of solid gold).

• Board a long-tail boat and cruise the Chao Phraya River and its canals (klongs) to experience traditional riverside life.

• Stop at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), known for its porcelain-covered central spire.

• Return to the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 3: Bangkok – Railway Market – Floating Market – Kanchanaburi (B)

Morning:

• Depart early to visit the famous Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors swiftly pull back goods as trains pass through.

• Taste local snacks and take scenic photos.

• Continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: Enjoy a motorboat ride through canals to witness this colorful and bustling marketplace.

Afternoon:

• Drive onward to Kanchanaburi, the province known for its WWII history and natural beauty.

• Visit the JEATH War Museum, Allied war cemetery, and learn about the harsh POW conditions.

• Ride the train along the Death Railway, which skirts dramatic cliff edges and riverbanks.

• Final stop at the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai.

Overnight: Kanchanaburi

 

Day 4: Kanchanaburi – Erawan Waterfalls – Ayutthaya (B)

Morning: Visit Erawan Waterfalls in Erawan National Park:

• Hike the seven tiers of cascading turquoise pools.

• Optional: Swim in the natural pools (bring swimwear and proper walking shoes).

Afternoon:

• Drive to the historical city of Ayutthaya – a former Siamese capital and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

• Admire the mix of Khmer-style ruins and sacred temples by the riverside.

Day 5: Ayutthaya – Bang Pa-In – Night Train to Chiang Mai (B)

Note: No guide on board train

Morning:

• Hop on a Kermit tuk-tuk, exclusive to Ayutthaya.

• Visit historical highlights:

  • Wat Yai Chaimongkol with towering chedis

  • Wat Mahathat, known for the Buddha head entwined in tree roots

  • Wat Phra Si Sanphet, once the royal temple of Ayutthaya

• Explore a local market for a taste of daily life.

• Visit the elegant Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a royal complex blending Thai, Chinese, and European architecture.

Evening:

• Transfer to Ayutthaya railway station to board the overnight train to Chiang Mai.

• Sleep in an air-conditioned berth with basic onboard amenities.

Day 6: Chiang Mai – City & Temple Tour (B)

Morning:

• Arrive in Chiang Mai and have breakfast at a local restaurant.

• Begin a walking tour of the Old City:

  • Visit Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang, and Wat Phan Tao with ancient Lanna architecture.

  • See the remains of the old city wall, gates, and moat.

  • Take a rickshaw ride through quiet lanes lined with traditional teak homes.

Afternoon:

• Explore the bustling Warorot Market, a true slice of northern Thai life.

• Ascend Doi Suthep Hill to see Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, with panoramic city views and a sacred golden stupa.

• Visit local craft villages producing lacquerware, silk, umbrellas, wood carvings, and silverwork.

Evening: Browse the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar for souvenirs and local street food.

Day 7: Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (Join-in Tour) (B/L)

Morning:

• 08:00–08:30: Pickup from your hotel

• 10:30: Arrive at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, change into Karen traditional clothes, and learn about elephant behavior

• 11:00: Feed and interact with elephants in a natural, ethical environment

• 12:00: Enjoy Thai buffet lunch with fresh fruit

Afternoon:

• 13:00: Prepare herbal medicine balls, walk with elephants to the river

• 14:00: Join a mud spa and river bath with the elephants

• 15:00: Say goodbye to the elephants, change clothes

• 17:00–17:30: Return transfer to hotel

Overnight: Chiang Mai

 

Day 8: Chiang Mai – Mae Kampong Village Exploration (B/L)

Morning:

• Depart for Mae Kampong Village in Mae On district, nestled in forested hills.

• Stop at San Kamphaeng market to buy fresh local ingredients for lunch.

• Upon arrival, meet village hosts and begin a gentle trek through tea gardens, coffee groves, and mushroom farms.

• Learn about bai miang tea, handmade crafts, and local eco-initiatives.

• Lunch: Enjoy a home-cooked meal at a local homestay or a picnic lunch, depending on the weather and trekking path.

• Optional: Traditional Thai massage by local practitioners.

Afternoon:

• Walk through forest trails or participate in a handicraft demo.

• Late afternoon return to Chiang Mai.

Day 9: Chiang Mai – Departure (B)

Morning:

Free time at leisure depending on your flight schedule.

Transfer to Chiang Mai International Airport for your onward journey or flight home.
